Mechatronics Technician

Job Description

The role requires a candidate who is confident in Mechanical and Electronic theory and practice. Some knowledge of software such as C or LabVIEW would be beneficial. The technician role also has the responsibility for the development of the electronic systems used in our equipment. The right candidate will also have the opportunity to work on short measurement projects around the world.

Duties and Responsibilities

Execute technical processes including, assembly, calibration, fault diagnosis, repair, interfacing and integration of the following components to complete our systems:

  • Small Mechanical Components
  • Printed Circuit Board Components
  • Miniature Stepper and Servo Motors
  • Embedded Controller
  • Encoders and Inclinometers
  • Digital Cameras
  • Optical Triangulation Sensors

Education

Apprenticeship in Electronics and/or HNC in Electronics. Minimum two years post qualification relevant work experience.  

Personal Abilities

  • First class hand soldering skills with small PCB components
  • A self-starter and self-motivating individual who can work solo as well as in a team
  • Excellent aptitude in building and fault finding complex Mechatronics Systems
  • Able to take on high levels of responsibility 
  • Natural problem solving abilities
  • Will not compromise on quality
  • Be able to articulate high level and detailed technical information to peers and managers

Salary

Up to £28,000 depending on skills and experience
