James Fallas gains Chartered Engineer status

OMS is delighted to announce that James Fallas, Senior Project Engineer at OMS, has gained Chartered Engineer (CEng) status from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).

James received his good news on 19th March after two years of working towards CEng status, which included an independent peer review and interview at the IMechE.

At OMS, James is responsible for Project Delivery of every OMS job. This means bringing together all the tools and kit required for each project, as well as ensuring that every member of staff is trained to the required professional standards.Prior to joining OMS in 2005, James worked in the automotive industry, building automated assembly systems. In total, he has more than 37 years’ experience working in industry. James is now mentoring other members of staff at OMS to help them gain Chartered Engineer status.

James Fallas commented: “Whilst working towards Chartered Engineer status, I’ve learned a lot about myself and I am extremely proud to receive such a high accolade. It was very nerve-wracking waiting for the results, but it’s been worth it.”

OMS is a specialist measurement technology company that provides measurement services and precision measurement systems to the oil and gas industry. A key focus for the company is in the dimensional measurement of oil and gas pipes or other similar structures such as aero engines, process industry tubes or manufactured cylindrical objects, where dimensions are critical.
