OMS is working with Subsea 7 to provide pipe-end measurement and fit-up services for the Mero 4 pipeline. A new development was utilised where low profile lasers were deployed, which meant that pipes can be measured within the stack with minimal external coating. This provides a significant saving for measurement activities because lack of handling required. Mero 4 is an ultra-deep-water oil field approximately 180km offshore Rio de Janeiro. It is operated by the Libra consortium, which is led by Petrobras.
