Business as UN-usual – our current response to Covid-19

We are not working normally but we are still working. Here are some examples of how we have had to cope with the current restrictions:

  • A project was due to start in Iceland to survey and important underground pipe. We are now sending our equipment by courier and training personnel to use it on site when it arrives. We have found a system that will allow, via a phone SIM, to monitor progress underground. This won’t be easy, not least because the tool is so new it has only just been manufactured ready for the job. However, the manuals have been written, the back up plans and their back ups are in place and hopefully we will be getting valuable information for our clients about the condition of their pipes next week.

  • On a contract in Asia we deployed our team as quickly as possible and made it to the island for the project with four hours to spare before lock down.

  • We have split our buildings into three separate zones with different levels of access to each. We need to keep our engineers safe as they cannot work remotely. We need to keep our operators separate from the rest of the staff when they come back from a project.

  • Those that can work at home are now doing so. Others that need to work with equipment now have a lot of social distance available to them.

  • At the moment we are working flat out on projects and dealing with the additional curve balls that get thrown our way as we all battle to work our way through this crisis.

If you have a need for anything you think we can do, we pride ourselves on being adaptable and innovative, please get in contact.
