CNC programmer/setter/operator wanted

OMS Engineering, a subsidiary of OMS, is looking for an experienced CNC programmer/setter/operator to join our skilled and friendly manufacturing team. Based at our facility in Stansted, the role will include programming and operating our CNC machinery, monitoring production and quality control. The ideal candidate will have the ability to take an issued drawing, programme the machine, set and run it until the part is complete.

OMS Engineering currently uses ONE CNC software, Siemens controls and XYZ machines. Experience with these is highly desirable. Key responsibilities:

  • Set-up and operation – loading raw materials, installing tools and calibrating settings

  • Technical interpretation of engineering drawings

  • Machine supervision – monitoring machines during operation, making any necessary adjustments

  • Quality control – inspection of finished workpieces to ensure compliance with specifications

  • Documentation – maintaining accurate production logs and other documentation

  • Safety – adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain and clean, organised work area

Required experience:

  • CNC milling and/or turning

  • Manual engineering

  • CNC programming
