OMS completes measurement and fit-up at Zuluf oil field

OMS has successfully completed pipe-end measurement and fit-up work at the Zuluf Field Expansion project, owned and operated by Saudi Aramco. Contracted by McDermott, OMS carried out laser pipe-end measurement of over 33,000 pipe ends of 42” diameter, with varying wall thicknesses. Following measurement, we provided data and SmartFit fit-up analysis along with HiLo measurement to ensure the pipeline would conform to rigorous standards set by Saudi Aramco. Work took place onshore and offshore during the pipe-laying process.

The Zuluf field is a super-giant oil field located in the Arabian Gulf, 40km from the north-east coast of Saudi Arabia. Saudi Aramco is seeking to expand the field to increase production from 800,000 bpd to 1.4 million bpd.
