OMS wins fourth King’s Award for pioneering AGILITY crawlers
Stansted-based pipeline technology specialists, OMS, has won a King’s Award (formerly Queen’s Award) for Enterprise in the Innovation category. Awarded to only 185 organisations in 2026, the King’s Awards are the UK’s most prestigious business accolades, given to businesses for outstanding achievement in four categories – innovation, international trade, sustainable development and promoting opportunity through social mobility. Very few companies ever win one so to be awarded four in the last twenty years is a significant achievement.
Enabling higher quality assets
OMS has won the award for the AGILITY range of robotic crawlers which enable laser measurement and camera inspection in hard-to-reach locations. This helps our clients in the energy industry confirm weld quality, improve installation efficiency and build assets that are stronger, safer and longer lasting.

Navigating complex pipelines to reach critical weld locations
Available in three sizes – the Micro, Mini and Max – these state-of-the-art crawlers navigate complex pipelines with multiple bends, elbows and vertical sections to access critical weld sections previously thought to be inaccessible. AGILITY crawlers are equipped with our award-winning AUGA.node (Queen’s Award 2020) static weld inspection technology, which enables detection of potential defects that could cause potentially catastrophic problems. Deployed throughout the world on major oil, gas and offshore wind projects, the AGILITY range has recently been qualified for nuclear environments.
‘Thanks to an exceptional team’
OMS team April 2026
Alex Felce, OMS CEO, said, ‘Winning a fourth King’s Award is the culmination of many years of hard work and creative thinking by our exceptional team. It demonstrates our commitment to innovation, providing our customers and prospective clients with external confirmation of the value of our approach. Since initial development and deployment on the QatarEnergy Barzan project in 2019, the AGILITY crawlers have been used on many global energy projects, helping clients to confirm weld quality in some of their most critical areas. Already used frequently in offshore wind and nuclear projects, the AGILITY crawlers are at the forefront of our business as we continue to diversify into new markets. I extend my thanks to the whole OMS team and congratulate everyone on this achievement.’
