SmartGrind success in 2025

Having launched our ground-breaking SmartGrind weld remediation service in 2023, this year has seen growing success for the system. Officially approved by Saudi Aramco in January this year, after the completion of a comprehensive qualification trial with our partners CRTS Global, and having completed several successful projects, the SmartGrind system is currently being deployed on multiple installations.

Since bringing the system to market in 2023, we’ve seen demand for it grow significantly and we expect that to increase in 2026. Having the ability to identify and resolve any weld issues at an early stage has helped our clients ensure their pipes are in the optimum condition for coating and increase installation efficiency.’

SmartGrind is a sophisticated inspection and remediation system equipped with camera and laser sensors, alongside a mounted flap disc for targeted grinding. Welds are scanned and issues identified, following which localised remediation is carried out. The welds are then rescanned and quality confirmed. When deployed via our AGILITY range of crawlers, the system can navigate multiple elbows, bends and vertical sections. It can also be attached to the ILUC or deployed via push-rods.
