Despite worldwide challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, OMS successfully serviced every project on our books, navigating complex testing, vaccination and quarantine requirements as well as restricted travel arrangements and remote training requirements. Our lightweight, easily portable range of tools and crawlers helped make this possible. Some new ways of working adopted during the pandemic have become permanent, enabling us to offer even more efficient services to our clients.
Mobilisation
When OMS is hired to solve a pipeline challenge we mobilise quickly to make sure our operators are on site as soon as possible. Our tools and robotic crawlers are packed into hard-wearing cases that can be carried onto a plane, with no need for complicated and expensive shipping arrangements. The OMS operations department is hugely experienced at managing international deployments, including those located in difficult-to-reach areas and at very short notice. They will ensure your team reaches your location in the shortest possible time, fully equipped with everything they need to start work on your project.
Remote working
OMS provides a range of remote working options that help clients manage projects effectively, reduce costs, limit impact on the environment and continue operations even during difficult times. We can send our robotic crawlers via air freight and operate them remotely or provide remote training to allow your operators to deploy them. We can also send tools via air and conduct remote training sessions using our highly skilled trainers, high quality training manuals and robust video links. Whatever your project requires, OMS can deliver.
Project experience
OMS has a wide range of experience providing solutions to challenging problems. In the last few months we have successfully carried out remote training with a leading pipe mill in China. We have recently delivered an entire remote solution to inspect underground fuel lines in Iceland while Europe was lockdown and international travel impossible. We sent our equipment via courier, arranged remote training for the operators in Iceland, set up a system that allowed us to monitor our crawler’s progress underground and completed the project successfully from the UK.
