Now that 2026 is off to a great start at OMS, we would like to take the opportunity to provide a brief update. Our new office in the Middle East is now fully operational under Regional Head, Marcus Smiles. Local projects can now be run and resourced from our facilities in Dubai – if you have a weld inspection, remediation or pipe measurement project contact Marcus on marcus.smiles@omsmeasure.com. During the last twelve months we have seen increasing demand for weld remediation as part of the inspection stage and accordingly have ramped up production of our ground-breaking SmartGrind system. We have also released a new iteration equipped with higher power for longer deployments, an on-board air compressor and hybrid fibre cable. In addition, we have recently completed an extensive project to remediate welds throughout a pipeline in the Middle East. Finally, as laser inspection and remediation specialists, we have published some information on why laser inspection remains the most effective way to confirm weld quality or identify potential issues.
